MASAAM representatives met up with officials from JKJR(Road Safety Department) at the new JKJR premise in Putrajaya, Presinct 4  to discuss matters relating to the high fatality rate of motorcyclists and pillion riders in road accidents.

The session was chaired by En. Abdul Haris bin Lakar, Timbalan Ketua Pengarah(Deputy Director) of JKJR.

Views were exchanged from both parties and deliberated on.

JKJR presented the newly introduced “Pelan Keselamatan Jalan Raya Malaysia 2014-2020( Malaysia Road Safety Plan 2014-2020).

JKJR highlighted the five strategic pillars and the programmes to be put in place to achieve the set targets.

MASAAM members mentioned the need for all stakeholders to play an active role to reduce the glaring statistics on fatality rate and look forward to future collaborations with JKJR on road safety matters and programmes.
